Last Tuesday

Machine Bench: 4x10 at 18
Leg Press: 3x10 at 14
Pulldowns: 3x10 at 12
Rows: 3x10 at 12



Deadlift: 2x10 @ 225; 2x5 @ 275
Chinup: 20 reps
Squats: 1x10 at 135
Also threw in some db c&p, pec deck and machine bench between main sets.

Going to mix some kettlebells in next workout. Maybe some jumping.

Lean down to 12% bodyfat
Increase strength and sports performance

Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Morning: Bike, swim or walk 30+ minutes

Heavy weights for sets of 3-5 aiming for 30-50 reps

Finish either doing interval training or a Tabata interval.

My left bicep felt strange partway through doing power cleans so I backed off. I was looking over my previous entries here and really think I've been complacent with my training. For my age, weight and means, there's a lot more I can be doing and I could have been working out a lot harder, I think. I want to focus on cleans and presses, bench press, deadlifts, squats, chinups and pushups.

I want to make some serious progress toward my old goals of cleaning and pressing 205, benching 350, squatting more than I can bench, deadlifting 405, and doing pushups/chinups with 100# of extra weight. I also want to improve my conditioning a LOT.

Power Cleans: 2x10 at 135
Inverted Row: 1x10 at BW
Chinups: 2x10 at BW
Pushups: 2x15 at BW
Curls: 1x10 at 50
Kickboxing: 10 minutes

Damn, I feel like I'm out of shape. I've been kickboxing a little bit, but lung condition isn't so great.

Took me an hour to do this workout and I felt like I was going to pass out for an hour after. Sad.

My arm is still aching. I think I've done some things lately that haven't helped it, but I'm not complaining. I skipped working out last Friday because I was busy and needed the day off anyway. I'm going to try to get back into things Monday and do some light training. I ran for a little while this morning but hadn't eaten yet and didn't feel good so I'm going back out in a few minutes. I need to get some place that I can put up my 100# thai bag and do some drills on that.

New Goal
Run a 6 minute mile

Hurt myself today. One arm was aching all the way back home. On Tuesday that one was fine and the other arm was messed up.

Chinups: 1x5 at bodyweight; 4x5 at 35#
Squats: 1x10 at 135; 1x10 at 185; 2x5 at 225
Bench: 1x10 at 75; 1x6 at 85


Ran 15 minutes

Today was just for fun. I didn't make it to the gym last night because of a business meeting so I went up today.

I still have to get diet back on track. I'm doing okay but can do better.

Bodyweight chinups are SO EASY now.

DB Bench: 1x10 at 75; 3x8 at 80
DB rows: 3x8 at 80
Dips: 1x12
Pulldowns: 2x10 at 140
DB Curls: 1x6 at 40
Chinups: 1x5

I'm kinda tired today--I haven't been paying as much attention to my diet and keep skipping meals. I think I may be fighting off a cold too because I was dead tired this afternoon and had to take a nap before going to the gym. Strength was definitely up though so I'm pretty happy with today's workout.

I'm going to try to be deadlifting 5 sets of 315 within 2 months. I'm starting to focus on squats again so I'll try to bring them up to par with leg pressing--I'd like to see at least 250 within 2 months. It shouldn't be difficult, I just have to build up the stabilizing muscles.

Chinups: 3x5 at 35
Leg Press: 1x10 at 225; 1x10 at 315; 2x10 at 405
Deadlift: 5x5 at 245

Skipped my workout yesterday. Bad day, and I know I should have gone anyway but I didn't. Today's kind of just a filler so I don't feel lazy.

I did a couple of normal chins to warm up. After doing the ones last week with weights, they are VERY easy with just bodyweight. Feels good. I don't feel as good today--a lot going on in my head and a lot's been happening the last couple of days. I haven't been eating as well as I should be, but overall am satisfied with how things are going.

Physically I feel pretty good, I'm just exhausted mentally. Time for a trip.

Leg Press: 1x10 at 225; 1x10 at 315; 2x10 at 365
